House of Eight advises a small number of private clients, estates, institutions, and foundations. We help people acquire well, understand what they hold, and make thoughtful decisions about what comes next.

Our advice begins with the client's objectives, not a house view or a sales mandate.
We bring together connoisseurship, careful research, market intelligence, and disciplined execution. Every engagement is handled personally, confidentially, and with a long view.
Important art brings complicated questions. We help clients answer them with care, context, and a clear understanding of the market.

We begin with the collection, transaction, valuation, or stewardship question that needs to be answered.
We examine provenance, scholarship, condition, market context, and the private channels surrounding the work.
We coordinate the people, documentation, negotiation, and follow-through needed to complete the mandate well.
House of Eight maintains selective access to works available outside the public market. We share only what is relevant to a client's interests, collection, and level of inquiry.

Every appraisal begins with its purpose. We define the intended use, effective date, scope, and appropriate market before developing a supported opinion of value.
Our reports connect object-level research with provenance, condition, scholarship, comparables, market behavior, and the broader context of the collection.
House of Eight appraisal reports are developed in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and informed by International Society of Appraisers methodology, as applicable to the assignment. Scope, intended use, assumptions, limiting conditions, methodology, and supporting market evidence are clearly communicated.

Significant archives and collections demand more than object-by-object pricing. We assess provenance, scholarship, narrative, market relevance, intellectual property, historical context, and the strength of the whole.
Our work supports estates, insurance, equitable distribution, foundations, institutional stewardship, and long-term collection planning.
We believe serious work can still feel personal.
House of Eight is a founder-led practice shaped by more than two decades spent close to art, technology, research, and complex private transactions.
We stay directly involved. Clients speak with the people doing the thinking, reviewing the material, and moving the work forward. That closeness creates better questions, clearer decisions, and relationships built to last.
